This short but worthy anthem starts softly with cluster chords. The piece builds through the text "He is like a tree planted in streams..." and reaches its apex at "whatever he does prospers." The music immediately returns to the reverent quiet of the beginning "But his delight is in the law of the Lord." This anthem is dedicated to the Rev. Dr. Ralph Canon, who pastored in the United Methodist Church in South Carolina. I consider the piece a descriptive profile of Ralph's deep faith. The harmonies are close harmonies but not difficult for an average choir.
