"Come, Christians, Praise the Lord" is set to the tune MADRID, which is most commonly sung to Christian Bateman's famous hymn "Come, Christians, Join to Sing". The 2 trumpets along with the organ play off of each other in rhythmic mixed meter sections that introduce and separate the stanzas. The text for this anthem is a mix of Bateman's hymn and Psalm 150. The congregation is invited to join in on the last verse of the anthem. This joyous and exciting anthem is an excellent way to start a worship service.
